About this site

In December 2006, our gorgeous mum and friend, Carol Willesee, died from Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). She had been diagnosed with the rare brain disease just eight days earlier.
Having seen what it did to our beautiful Carol, we are only too aware of how much research needs to be done into this cruel, little-understood disease. Universally fatal, there is no known treatment for CJD.
Our aim is to establish a scholarship in Carol’s name to assist PhD students to work with the Australian CJD research teams, based at the University of Melbourne.
